Founded in 2015 by renowned South African motorsport figure Peter Lindenberg, Shelby South Africa was established to bring the Shelby legacy to local enthusiasts. Following extensive training at Shelby American's Las Vegas headquarters, the team began introducing authentic Shelby vehicles, performance upgrades and expertise to the South African market.
Operating from the Shelby Mod Shop in Malmesbury, Western Cape, Shelby South Africa has spent the past decade delivering authorised Shelby conversions, limited-edition vehicles and genuine performance upgrades. As the official South African distributor for Superformance heritage vehicles, the company also offers the Shelby Cobra, Shelby Daytona Coupe and Ford GT40.
Today, Shelby South Africa continues to honour Carroll Shelby's vision by delivering authentic Shelby products, expert craftsmanship and a direct connection to one of the world's most celebrated performance brands.

YOUR JOURNEY STARTS HERE
Every Shelby South Africa build begins with a personal consultation, where our team will guide you through the available Shelby packages and help you configure a vehicle tailored to your exact specifications.
Once your order has been confirmed and the required documentation completed, your deposit secures your build, allowing us to order your authentic Shelby components directly from Shelby American.
From there, your Shelby journey begins, with every stage of the process carefully managed by our team from procurement through to final delivery.
SHELBY ORDER PROCESS
1. Base Vehicle Procurement
Your Shelby journey begins with the procurement of your chosen Ford Mustang, followed by secure transport to our Shelby South Africa Mod Shop in Malmesbury, where your transformation begins.
2. Shelby Conversion
Your bespoke Shelby specification is ordered directly from Shelby American to match your selected configuration. Please allow approximately 10 weeks for your authentic Shelby components to arrive in South Africa, followed by 6 weeks for the complete vehicle conversion. (SSR Wide Body conversions require an additional 2 weeks.)
3. Delivery to Your Destination
Upon completion and final quality inspections, your Shelby will be carefully transported from our Malmesbury facility to your nominated destination, ready for you to experience true Shelby performance.
4. Official CSM Registration
Following completion of your build, Shelby South Africa receives your vehicle's official CSM (Carroll Shelby Manufacturer) badging from Shelby American. We then arrange the fitment of the authentic CSM identity plate, officially recognizing your vehicle as a genuine Shelby.

A Shelby CSM (Carroll Shelby Modifications) Number is the official identifier issued by Shelby American to approved Shelby vehicles and conversions. This unique number confirms authenticity, traces the vehicle's history and links it directly to Shelby American's global registry.
For collectors and enthusiasts, a CSM number is far more than a badge. It is proof that the vehicle has been built or modified to Shelby American standards using approved Shelby components and processes.
In a market where imitation products and unauthorised conversions exist, the CSM number remains the definitive mark of an authentic Shelby.
